Where do you go on holiday when you live in Paradise?

by Sammy-Jo McGaw on 22/02/2014

Some people define being fortunate as possessing money or fame. But, those people have never spent a day of their lives in the suggested birthplace of Adam and Eve which has been described as the faultless art of the Gods – of course I am describing the Seychelles.

Living on the largest of the Seychelles Islands, Mahe, which is considered one of the world’s most natural beauties, with the most attractive beaches is to truly be fortunate indeed. Waking up every day to the sound of the marvelous waves crashing on the rocks and enjoying the sun loaded days can be pure happiness. So, where should we go on holiday if we already live here, in paradise?

That is an easy question to answer! Just look around you and take your pick… Mahe is the mainland to the Seychelles. It is the most inhabited island, with the most development and buildings. Although, this does not destroy the beauty and amazement it contains. A weekend at the Constance Resort of Ephelia can be a reassurance since it does not only provide the fun of having a rock-climbing and zip-lining activity but also combines the relaxation aspect of vast infinity pools and a wonderful sea-side and beach view. This can yield a dream of amusement and repose for a family.

For those wanting to escape just a little further Round Island is nearby and is a perfect name for its description, which includes the round, small shape of the island. Visiting the island offers you a flawless opportunity to explore other even smaller islands nearby such as Ile Moyenne, Cerf Island and St Anne. It is easy to have an island hop between these small islands of Seychelles. The hotel located on Round Island is named Enchanted, which is a recent reconstruction on the island which allows the provision of a decent, relaxing stay with an outstanding view.

Just an hours boat ride away via the Cat Cocos ferry from Mahe is the island of Praslin. Praslin is home to the famous Coco De Mer, the specialty of Seychelles. A visitor to the Valle De Mai, a World Heritage Site, is a witness to the world’s largest seed shaped as a ladies bottom. It is a rare species only grown in this area.

For just another 20 minute trip from Praslin visitors can explore La Digue. The almost car free island of La Digue is a great opportunity for families to explore Seychellois beauty by bike. It is the island which consists of the world’s rated most beautiful beach. Anse Source D’argent is the haven which holds the clear, blue waves of the ocean which hugs the pale, peaceful sand of the beach.
